For those of us that love the beach, we are always planning our next trip and thinking about the sun, surf and sand. We all have stories about the most amazing beach we have ever visited and we often will recreate our experience by decorating our home to bring back those fond memories.
Many times the best beaches are those that are close to home. The closer we can stay to home the more time we have for vacation instead of traveling. Sometimes people only think about resorts or tropical islands, that can mean travel headaches, when they are looking for a beach vacation.
We are fortunate to live in a country that has many beaches that rival the best beaches in the world. No passport required.
Cape May, New Jersey
This lovely beach community of Gingerbread Victorian homes and fabulously decorated Bed & Breakfast Inns, features horse-drawn carriage rides and wonderful seafood restaurants.
Cape Hatteras National Seashore, North Carolina
This area is well known by locals and those in neighboring states. The Outer Banks is an area that will surprise you with it’s great beaches. For surfing and body-surfing or just building castles, the sand dunes of the area offer miles of tranquil spaces.
Poipu Beach Park, Hawaii
This beach is worth the plane trip but you will not need extra vaccinations to visit. Their crescent shaped coves can mean calm and safe waters for youngsters and even surfing available out by the reef. Here there is a real possibility of swimming with a sea turtle so bring your snorkeling gear.
Coronado, California
An iconic beach vacation here means surfing, body boarding, biking, volleyball and more. There are about 15 miles of pathways along the beach where you can rollerblade or just enjoy a leisurely stroll. There is even a beach just for dogs where they can run in the sand and surf.
Daytona Beach, Florida
The most famous of the Florida beaches, Daytona Beach is instantly recognizable to most of us, especially those of us that enjoy NASCAR. Over 20 miles of beaches means something for everyone. You will also find educational opportunities for learning about the ecosystems of the area.
These are just a few of the many local beaches we can boast about. Maybe you know of the perfect beach close to your home, if so, we would love to hear about it.
We would also like to invite you to see our collection of Beach House Decor for you to use in recreating your favorite beach cottage memories right in your own home. Contact us to find out how!

Coastal Home Decorations are perfect for those that live near the beach or simply want to bring a bit of the beach home with them. Even if you live 2,000 miles away from the nearest beach or it’s right outside of your door, home decorations with a coastal theme allow you to live the experience of the shore.
For instance, with just a few nautical themed items, you can make your home feel like you’re at the beach all year long even if you can only visit it during a vacation. Use nautical cabinet knobs and nautical mirrors to add that extra touch to the entire room and once you choose a few themed afghans, pillows or wall hangings; your room will look like you’ve just stepped into your dream vacation.
Combining your nautical decorations with pastel and white colors create that serene, coastal look. A light blue, whitewashed ivory or sea foam green are excellent color choices to pair with a bowl of glass floats or a decorative wooden anchor. Even the slightest nautical decoration can create a sense of calm and coastal atmosphere in your home. Once you get started, everything will fall into place as to how you want the finished room to look.
You can complete your decorating with whimsical nautical wall signs or go more traditional with pictures and wall art to complement your coastal themed walls.
The many choices are left up to your imagination and sense of style but no matter how you want your beach decorations to look, we can help. Just contact us and we’ll help you choose the perfect nautical decorations for your home. We have just about everything you can imagine to make your room special, unique and customized for a nautical theme.

Here’s an idea that might sound unusual to some, but one of the coolest things that you can for your kitchen is to transform it with a nautical theme. A nautically themed kitchen will not only add fun to you home décor but will also provide an atmosphere as cool and tranquil as an ocean breeze.
When discussing kitchen décor, most people don’t think of nautical home décor like nautical wall hangings, seashells and the like. Their thoughts immediately turn to the counter tops and cabinets, so let’s start there. We got great nautically themed cabinet knobs including dolphins, sailboats, shells, lighthouses, crabs, and much more. The plating and finish is available in Antique Brass, Pewter, and Nickel. You can add seashells, ships or even mini-lighthouses to intensify the nautical feel.
For your walls, we’ve got lots of great ideas like our Sandpiper wave wall sculpture, Lighthouse wall plaques, brass galley plaque, and the nautical lighthouse keeper’s chalkboard. Another great nautical kitchen décor item is a clock. We’ve got lots of good options here too, like a porthole wheel clock, map and lanyard clock, lighthouse rope clock, and our anchor clock. Other good choices would be our brass anchor key hooks, or nautical signal flags with hooks.
For your table you might want to consider our colorful glass floats or our decorative nautical shell balls. Both would look great in a bowl on your table or countertop. Other great nautical kitchen accessories include our nautical shell serving platters, nautical themed TV trays, and a huge assortment of nautically themed kitchen and bar items like our brass porthole ice bucket, lighthouse sandstone coasters, and our pirate and sailor bottle holders. One of our best sellers is our personalized lighthouse paper towel holder.
Once your nautically themed kitchen is almost complete, don’t forget about lighting. Our electric globe lantern, 10” electric anchor lantern, and electric cargo hold lantern would all make good choices and great conversation pieces.
A really neat idea for any kitchen that has a door, is to install one of our interior porthole windows. Or you could attach a Standard Ships Wheel to create an interesting nautical look. Our shell portieres would also look beautiful hanging in your window.
Now that you know where to find the best nautical decorations and accessories for your kitchen, it’s time to get your imagination rolling and create your own personalized nautically themed kitchen.
